Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Him
Valentine’s Day shopping is so easy for guys, but finding the perfect gift for him is hard! Whether it’s your boyfriend, husband, dad, or even your son, gift shopping just isn’t easy. That’s why I’m putting together the top Valentine’s Day gift ideas for him – to help all my girls out! Here are my top suggestions for Valentine’s Day gifts to make (almost) any man happy. (I’m even including a few last minute Valentine’s Day gift ideas for the slackers like me.)
#1 – Personalized Gifts for Him
The trick to personalized gifts is finding something that is meaningful to him. Think beyond monogrammed underwear – what is something he truly loves (besides you)?
Upgrade any of his current personal items by adding his personal touch to it. If he enjoyed them before, he’ll enjoy them even more when they’re styled to be uniquely his. A few ideas:
- Monogrammed Steak Brand and Carving Board
- Backyard Bar Beverage Cooler
- Personalized Car Mats
- Docking Station
- Personalized Air Pods Leather Case
- And of course – personalized underwear (with your face on it)
Instead of his initials or name, you can also get a gift with his favorite sports team’s logo on it – which leads me to my next suggestion…
#2 – Sports Themed Valentine’s Gifts
Sports are a HUGE hit in our house, and we practically watch some type of ball game all year long – whether its basketball, baseball, or football. Sports themed gifts are a guaranteed score with my husband.
I could give him socks, t-shirts, Fathead wall decals, pajama pants, framed photos, jerseys… you get the idea. He’d enjoy them all. Tickets to a local game would be an even better gift, but I’m saving that idea for when we can go together. (Yes, I’m a slightly selfish gift-giver. I admit it.)
Here are a few sports themed Valentine’s Day gift ideas:
#3 – Romantic Dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse
There’s only one thing my husband loves almost as much as me – and that is meat. Ok ok, he was in love with meat first, but I’d like to think he would choose ME if he had to pick one or the other.
His favorite place to eat is a Brazilian steakhouse, and we used to eat at his favorite place in Denver. If you aren’t familiar with that type of restaurant, you are able to eat ALL the meat you want. It’s a meat-lover’s dream. Take him to dinner there and you will end up with one happy – and very full – man.
But fair warning – he will probably just fall asleep as soon as you get home.
#4 – (Morning After) Breakfast in Bed
I’m sure I don’t need to go into much detail here on how you can make this more romantic, but here’s a tip: use your imagination!
If you bought him a sports team shirt or jersey, throw it on. Whip up some eggs and bacon. Bring it to him on a tray in bed. Let him decide which gift he’d like to enjoy first. *wink wink*
Not a fan of eggs and bacon? Try this simple parfait for a unique treat.
#5 – Valentine’s Day Dinner and a Movie
It sounds so cliche, but most guys really ARE into simple gifts. It doesn’t matter if you go out to dinner and catch a movie at the theater, or just stay home to Netflix and chill. I can almost guarantee that there’s nothing better that your man will want than to spend time with you.
Want to make it more “gift-like” and special? Dress up in an outfit he’s sure to like. Buy movie tickets in advance and print them out (or create fake tickets of your own on cardstock). Include a Fandango gift card or an AMC Stubs membership. Package it all into a popcorn bucket with his favorite movie theater candies. Give it to him with instructions on where to meet for dinner and what to wear… or what NOT to wear.
My list of Valentine’s Day movie ideas:
- The Notebook
- Love & Basketball
- Lost in Translation
- 50 First Dates (one of my favorites!)
- Crazy, Stupid, Love
- (500) Days of Summer
- Pride & Prejudice
- Titanic
- Love, Actually (it isn’t just for Christmas, you know)
- 10 Things I Hate About You
- Say Anything
- Dirty Dancing
- Sleepless in Seattle
- When Harry Met Sally
You can go big or go small, but most importantly just enjoy each other’s company. Refer back to the suggestions in #4 if you want to add a little extra spice to your night.
#6 – Tech Gifts that Men Love
What is it about technology that gets men excited? It’s like giving a toy to a grown up.
The great thing about technology is there’s always something new coming out – and it’s almost always more exciting than the last big thing! Here are a few top gift items that’s sure to get his electrons going (not gonna lie, I have no idea if that’s scientifically correct but it sounded good when I wrote it).
#7 – Creative Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him
Nothing really says how much you care than a gift that shows you put thought into it. While he might love a store-bought gift, a creative gift that you DIY will give him warm fuzzies.
Here are a few creative gift ideas to get you started:
- Love coupons (print these, create your own, or splurge for these love tokens instead!)
- On the Hour Valentine Gifts
- 50 Shades of a Date Night
- Sticks and Stones Love Notes
- Treat-filled Slippers
- Reasons you love him written on Post-Its, arranged in a heart shape on your bathroom mirror
- Naughty Valentine’s Day Beer Stickers (buy these or get creative and make your own)
- Plan a scavenger hunt around your house (or town) with little notes and small gifts that lead up to a bigger surprise.
My husband would personally love just getting a coupon that says “free one hour nap”. Get creative and think about what he’d love most!
#8 – Tickets to an Event
Every person has a type of show they like. Get him tickets to one that you think he’d like most and that you’ll enjoy together. If you don’t know yet, you can always ask first – just don’t give the surprise away! Some ideas are:
- Comedy Show
- Poetry Reading
- Jazz Band
- Karaoke Night
- Sports Event
#9 – Thoughtful & Romantic Gifts for Him
If you’re wondering what to get your husband for Valentine’s Day, these ideas are for you. They are a little sappy, and won’t work for every guy. But for the men who love sentimental and sweet, these romantic gifts are perfect:
#10 – Last Minute Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him
If you made it this far, I know you’re in a pickle. Like me. Because we are the procrastinators of the world and we are sitting here giftless. GIFTLESS.
I see you. I know that feeling.
No worries, I have a few ideas that you can whip up faster than you can say “Cupid is stupid.” If the above gift ideas aren’t working for you, try one of these:
- A night away in a cool location, like the Getaway House. Turn your phones off for the night.
- Fuego Box: Hot Sauce of the Month Club
- Quick camping trip – perfect for snuggling!
- A GOOD bottle of whiskey/bourbon/whatever he drinks
- This book with a handwritten note inside telling him to choose your next adventure. Then book a trip.
- Heart socks – plus a foot massage from you
- Heart shaped pizza and a tray of brownies from Papa John’s
- You. Naked. (Bonus – it’s free!)
