Start by sketching your idea on paper. It doesn't have to be perfect, just a place to start.

Use painters tape to create triangles for the mountains.

Paint inside the taped area. Leave space at the top for "snow" if you like.

Add in trees and clouds. Use spackle to give clouds texture.

Start painting the background/sky. I used 3 shades of blue for depth.

Add a yellow sun in the corner. You can easily tint latex paint with acrylic paint to get a new shade of yellow.

Some grassy hills and a bright blue river finish out the scene.
