YOUR POST WORKOUT ROUTINE: WHAT TO DO
You finished your workout! Way to go!
But now what?
I'm sharing my recommended post workout routine to maximize your recovery and progress.
Don't skip your cool down! Spend 5-10 minutes walking or doing light cardio to bring down your heart rate safely.
Drink plenty of water to replenish what was lost during exercise, and to prevent muscle soreness (DOMS).
Carbs aren't bad! They literally provide our bodies with energy. Munch on a healthy carb source after exercising to replenish energy stores.
Protein helps to repair those tiny tears in your muscles. Aim for 0.5 to 0.8 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily.
No really - you need a rest day! To avoid overtraining and injury, take at least one rest day per week. Get plenty of sleep at night too!
