Try this simple DIY board and batten tutorial for big change - even if you're a beginner to DIY!

Here's What You Need
- MDF boards
- brad nailer
- measuring tape
- stud finder
- level
- miter saw
- caulk
- liquid nails (recommended)

Step 1: Attach the bottom boards

Use a brad nailer to attach a board to the bottom of the wall.
Step 2: Attach the top boards

Measure to determine the height you want, then attach the top board to the wall.
Step 3: Measure and Cut

Measure the space between your boards to determine their length (measure for each board!)...

...then use a miter saw to cut each board to the correct length.
Step 4: Space out the boards

Before attaching the vertical boards, use painters tape to space them out.
Watch out for outlets and switches!
Step 5: Attach the boards

Use a brad nailer to attach boards over any studs. Use liquid nails for extra hold where there are no studs.
Step 6: Caulk the seams

Use caulk on the corners and seams for a more finished look.
Step 7: Paint and decorate

Paint your boards and walls, decorate your room, and enjoy!
